FRANK BAKER, KING OF THE HR PRIOR TO ARRIVAL OF BABE RUTH IS A GL

Before the arrival of Babe Ruth to the Major Leagues, the run was a rare element of the game.

In early 1900, then a player who shot five homers in a season was considered a "power hitter", and among the best in that aspect of the game was Frank "Home Run" Baker.

Frank Baker I lead the American League in homers in four consecutive years (1911-1914), was never about 2 ยบ homers in a season.

Baker received the nickname "Home Run" by hitting two homers in the World Series in 1911, an incredible feat in the dead ball era of major league baseball.

Frank Baker played for the Philadelphia Athletics (1908-1916), also campaigning for the New York Yankees from 1916 until his retirement in 1922.

not only stands out with his bat, widely considered the best third baseman of his time, Frank Baker was just a complete player.

Baker rarely poncho. This is evident by his performance in the 1918 season, struck out only 13 times in 504 plate appearances.

Twice led the American League in RBIs, had six seasons with a batting average over .300, and twice scored 100 runs or more. In his career, Frank Baker finished with 1.838 hits, 315 doubles, 103 triples, 96 homers, 987 RBIs, 235 stolen bases and a .307 average.

After retiring from baseball he became active as a mentor of young players. Baker was inducted into the Hall of Fame Baseball in 1955.
